One Month with the Fuji X100F

Hey there!

My name’s KJ and I’m a photographer located in Lynchburg, VA. Much of my work as a university photographer consists of shoots with a lot of moving parts, bigger productions, and shooting for a brand that’s not my own.

Over the past month I’ve had a bit of a creative renaissance. I picked up a Fuji X100F at the beginning of July to use as a daily carry camera and to photograph my everyday life. I love my job as a university photographer, but I don’t think I had realized how much I needed to make photography simple again and to just shoot things that I found interesting until I got my Fuji.

I haven’t been on social media for a while now but have found myself really wanting an outlet to share the images I’ve been making. Enter, this blog. I intend to post regularly here just as a means of putting the work that I make on a daily basis out into the world. Some of these images are things I see in my daily commute, hanging out with friends, photos of my wife and dog Rousseau, people I see or meet, and whatever random things I find interesting.

For me, I’ve desperately needed to shoot for my own enjoyment and make work that might not be “portfolio worthy” but I nevertheless loved making. So I hope you enjoy this first set of images. They’re some of my favorites made throughout July 2022.
